Rodrinator Jun 8 2006, 08:26 PM Game: Escape The Jungle. Creator: Beamer. Genre: Top-Down Action. Description: Escape from a jungle protected by a vigilante army in this unique game. Rating: 80%. Review: This game was a short project made by Beamer for Lord Prism’s Second South Park Game Making Contest. The game is a short download. It has good graphics, but the music isn’t that good, as some themes are too quick and noisy. What is quite good is the fact that Beamer voiced almost all the characters (he even voiced Kenny sometimes). The game’s storyline (quite weak but pretty unusual, which is good) is quite simple: some thugs throw Kenny into a river because of his father’s debt, Kenny wakes up on an vigilante’s base, and as he see they are dangerous, he tries to escape. The game’s main menu is very cool, and it suits the jungle theme perfectly. As Beamer’s newest games, it has a save/load option with up to 3 slots. The gameplay is unique. You run through the jungle, evading mines, guards and many other hazards (even a flying helicopter). You can run, but that will decrease your Stamina, and you’ll have to stop. If a hazard (enemies, mines, etc) is touched by Kenny, your health will decrease, and if it’s goes to zero, you die. The game’s main problem is it duration. You’ll win it no time if you are a good player, and the only hard level is the one where you are followed by 3 kids. This game is special and quite impressive for it’s graphics, but it’s duration is what separates it from a better percentage. Beamer had to rush the game because of the contest's deadline, and he was forced to make the game shorter if he wanted to participate. Even though this problem, I highly reccomend the game to people looking for a different gameplay than the standard’s South Park games. Strong Points: Good Graphics. Unique Gameplay. Weak Points: It’s very short. It’s really easy.
