Junkman Dec 13 2004, 04:46 AM Game: Avenging Kenny's Death Creator: Korobrown Software Genre: Miscelleanous Description: Help Stan and Kyle avenge the death of their friend Kenny by terminating the author of his death... who's Cartman. Rating: 73% Review: As you may probably know already, the South Park Gaming community didn't appeared out of a sudden like this. This game is amongst one of the first SP games to have been ever made, alongside Nomad's work with games such as South Park and many other titles which earned him the praise of many. But, let's stick to the game review right now, shall we? This game, which has been designed as the first season was airing (as showed by all of the game's elements borrowed from episodes such as "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe", "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig" and "Mr.Hankey The Christmas Poo") tells us the tale of Stan who's trying to exact revenge on Cartman as he's responsible for Kenny's death. To reach him, he needs to fight his way through five-assed monkeys, a Whack-The-Cartman game and you must also help Kyle to bail out of a mental institute as well with the help of Mr.Hankey. The gameplay in the game is simple, but pretty effective. The game is quite easy to control and the levels are varied and fun to play. I especially liked the Whack-a-Cartman level, and I don't need to tell why. wink.gif I still think this is one of the most unique levels to have been made in a South Park game, especially considering about the time it's been made. The game's only downfall on this matter is the incredibly short length (it's only 5 levels long). Graphically, the game also is good. The cutscenes are greatly illustrated but I've got a slight complaint about Stan's appearance. His colors on the game and in some of the cutscenes are all messed up and it slightly distracts from the game. Most of the other graphics are excellent and stay in touch with the show's roots. Most sound effects are used correctly and in a good fashion and the game's soundtrack is fitting. You can't wrong with placing a Nine Inch Nails song in a game. smile.gif This game really was a good roadmap for other people interested to make games to follow. It's a short, yet solid and pretty-well made game that has some very original features and fun gameplay. KoroBrown Software had a good idea about how a good game was created pretty early on, and unfortunately there hasn't been as much games as we wished that showed that same level of effort in the early days of the SPG community. It's a great monument to make people know about how South Park Gaming had started off.
